The Instrument Business Outlook (IBO) Design
Awards are presented yearly in August in three categories: analytical instrument,
portable analytical instrument and laboratory equipment. Gold, silver and
bronze awards are presented for each category. Process analysis and diagnostic
instruments are ineligible. |
Eligibility Requirements
An analytical instrument is a laboratory instrument with a useful life beyond
12 months that is used to sense a sample characteristic. A portable analytical
instrument is defined similarly, but must must weigh less than 30 lb. and
can be used outside of a laboratory. Laboratory equipment is defined as
equipment that is receiving an electric current with a useful life of more
than 12 months that does not sense a sample characteristic. |
To be eligible for a 2011 IBO Design Award, a product must have begun
shipping between August 2010 and July 2011. Award winners are selected solely based on their
industrial design, not on technical capabilities or performance. Criteria
include originality, functionality and product features. Submissions must
be received by July 31, 2011 and must include a product press release and/or brochure, picture
and shipping date information.
Please send all submissions to ibo@strategic-directions.com.
